Questions, answered

How is WEAVE different from other virtual tabletops?

Most virtual tabletops assume your group meets over webcam. WEAVE assumes you're in the same room. Phones become character sheets, the screen in the middle becomes the battlefield, and the whole table shares one live map. If your group still gathers around an actual table, WEAVE was built for you. Remote groups can play too: everything syncs over the internet either way.

Do my players have to pay too?

Any player joins free from any device, forever. They just need the link. As your campaign grows and you want to upgrade your capacity, only the campaign host (Dungeon Master) needs to get a paid subscription. Players can upgrade to a paid account to receive monthly Weavy credits.

What happens to my campaign if I cancel?

Your worlds stay yours. If you drop back to the free tier, your campaigns and everything in them stay intact and fully playable. Nothing is deleted because a payment stopped. You keep what you've made; you just can't add beyond the free tier's limits until you upgrade again, so if you're above the free storage or player allowance you'll need to free up space before uploading or adding people.

Which game systems does WEAVE support?

The D&D 5E SRD and PF2E Remastered are supported out of the box, with more systems coming. And it's easy to create your own custom game system.

Can different DMs share a campaign?

Yes. DM ownership can be transferred between accounts at any time, so clubs and groups can hand a campaign off to whoever's running the next session.

How do I get started?

Every account ships with a ready-made demo campaign, so you're trying WEAVE within five minutes. From there, WEAVE's creation tools, with Weavy lending a hand, make setting up your own worlds, maps, and NPCs a breeze, so you can go from a blank canvas to a live table fast. Importing an existing campaign is on the roadmap. Invited players aren't left to figure it out either: a "Join the table" guide walks each new player through building their character, gearing up, and stepping into the session, with an instruction video a click away.

Who owns my world and my data?

You do, always. Your worlds, lore, and characters are yours. Nothing you create is shared with external parties without your consent. WEAVE is fully compliant with European privacy law (GDPR), so your personal data is safe as well.

What's your position on generative AI?

AI is there to complement the human, never to replace them. We have deep appreciation for the artists who give content its soul, and hope to build many durable partnerships as the platform grows. WEAVE offers several generative features today that can strongly enhance the game experience and is overall positive towards the technology. You can easily choose to turn generative options off or on: WEAVE works great either way.
